Our end client is in search of the following skill set for a 6 month contract to hire position:

The team has an application that runs on AIX. This application is built and primarily supported in Perl. The Application Support Analyst will provide back up to the current Application Administrator in supporting this application.

Must be able to provide application support, including maintenance, development, and troubleshooting using legacy Perl, Korn, and Bash; primarily in an AIX environment but also in Linux environment.
Perl and shell knowledge is critical. AIX-specific is very helpful.

Should be very comfortable using Unix command-line system administration tools, e.g. ssh, scp, uuencode, topas, crontab. Should be very comfortable with vi editor.

This is not a pure programming position, roughly 90% of day-to-day responsibilities will include writing and running scripts, the candidate must be willing to provide application support.
