Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide leadership and coordination of daily, monthly and annual accounting and financial reporting practices for multiple F&B and other entertainment venues being developed in a new multibillion dollar hotel casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey and potentially other East Coast locations. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and adhere to Gaming, State and Federal regulations. Participate in hiring, training, developing and supervising local staff including accounts payable, payroll and cash auditing personnel. Work closely with operations and marketing teams to maximize profitability of the venues. Build and maintain relationships with finance/accounting staff at hotel landlord.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
- Assume responsibility for the accurate reporting of monthly income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flow for venues.
- Maintain, analyze, and summarize general ledger accounts for each venue.
- Assist in the coordination of year-end financial audits and other periodic audits as needed (sales tax, revenue, etc.).
- Present financial information to senior management.
- Prepare/review daily cash activity. Submit cash balances to CFO.
- Track and maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
- Prepare month end schedules and reconciliations as needed.
- Coordinate with operations team to monitor and account for purchases and inventory.
- Work closely with Human Resources department to ensure accurate accounting for payroll and benefits expenses.
- Ensure accurate tracking and allocation of corporate overhead expenses.
- Select invoices to be paid based on due dates and present information to CFO for process approval.
- Review accounts payable aging reports and submit to CFO for analysis and review.
- Work with senior management to establish and implement short and long range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
- Maintain and organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals, objectives and reporting requirements.
- Works on special projects as needed.
