POSTION SUMMARY
Seeking an Assignment Editor that possesses strong communication skills. Solid sound news judgment and experience on a TV newsroom assignment desk required. Candidate must accept a leadership role in the news room as they may be in charge of the newsroom when Director cannot be reached.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
:
• Track stories from all sources: Police, fire and court beats, Scanner traffic, all newspapers, wire services, etc.
• Assigning photographers, reporters and live shots
• Lead daily story meetings, supply a comprehensive list of all-possible news stories and video sources, and work with the News Director to develop plans for the afternoon and evening broadcasts
• Assist in development, planning and follow up of all news stories
• Edit videotape, establish and troubleshoot all remotes
• Research and story development and crew logistics
• Work directly with newscast staff on the daily creation of all News broadcasts

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: B.A. in communications or journalism
Experience: Must have 1-2 years assignment desk experience, Minimum 1 year experience in a newsroom
