Business Analyst

Summary:

Reporting to the Project Manager, this role contributes to the success of the project team by leading the business and technical teams through the analysis of new project requirements.  They work closely with business stakeholders to help define our web
product strategy that meets the customer’s needs while satisfying scalability, reliability, performance, and resource costs.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the client and senior management team to establish and refine clear objectives for ongoing software development.
• Work with the various internal groups (including Development, Architecture, Systems, Customer Services, Statistics and Operations/Systems Monitoring groups) to identify and resolve project scope concerns.
• Analyze information from a variety of sources to isolate areas of opportunity & successes.
• Guide and capture the business intent through requirements documentation, and ensure that intent is communicated effectively through the project teams.
• Lead the review of the functional specifications as created by project teams to ensure that business objectives are properly captured in the proposed functionality.
• As required, conduct research and analysis of various data to support management decision making.
• Using analytic, business and technical skills, establish new requirements for existing websites.
• Conduct analysis of features/functionality of existing websites.
• Analyze information from a variety of sources to isolate areas of opportunity & successes.
• Work with management, clients and external partners to identify potential enhancements and associated project priorities.
• Work with the other members of the PMO and functional managers to confirm and negotiate resource assignment during the Project Planning phase.
• Maintain the new set of business requirements currently enforced by our existing production systems.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a Business Analyst role in a software development environment is required.
• Experience working with external clients is required.
• Experience working with remote project team members is preferred.
• Experience working in a large volume, online or e-commerce environment is strongly preferred.
• Outstanding analytical skills are required, with a history of success in synthesizing diverse information from varied sources, in collecting and researching data.
• Must be able to work well under pressure, with the ability to work within stringent timelines and to collaborate across departments to achieve results.
• Must be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Must be a true problem solver with a proven ability to translate the underlying business needs of requests into actionable reports.
• A strong focus on detail, with the proven ability to ensure documentation produced is thorough and accurate.
• A demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and working with new tools and technologies is essential.
• Must be a strong and enthusiastic team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization.
