BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (M&A) - This position will report to and work closely with the Senior Business Development Manager to implement marketing and business development initiatives. The BD Specialist will conduct research to develop/draft tailored pitch booklets (working with lawyers), proposals and RFP responses; maintain core experience lists and templates for the practice; identify strategies and opportunities to expand client relationships; monitor and report on industry trends and issues that impact clients’ businesses; conduct comprehensive client research and analysis; develop and update attorney bios and practice group descriptions; help prepare draft submissions for practice to various legal guide publications; assist with client events and sponsorships and support practice specific client teams. This professional will also actively participate in firm-wide projects and be proactive and capable of executing projects under limited supervision. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, professional, self-directed and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree (marketing, economics, business, finance, communications) and 3-5 years’ experience in a financial services industry and/or in the energy sector or law firm/professional services environment. Additionally, candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and proofreading ability; superior analytical and research skills as well as strong technical proficiencies, particularly in the use of CRM/contact databases, Excel, PowerPoint and online research databases.
