Clinical Coordinator/Instructor, Paramedic Technology Program

 Prepares and delivers quality curriculum with daily instruction of students.  Under general supervision, demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.  Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.  Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of current procedures in the Paramedic field.  Follows approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.  Monitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment.  Advises and counsels students, and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.  Maintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.  Attends meetings as required.  Places, supervises, and communicates with students while on clinical experiences. Develops criteria and procedures for clinical site selection, utilization, and assessment.  Establishes, develops, and maintains an adequate number of clinical education sites relative to quality, quantity and diversity of learning experiences.  Collaborates with clinical faculty to promote, coordinate, plan, and provide clinical faculty development opportunities using effective instructional methodologies and technologies.  Administers a system for the academic program's clinical education records.  Acts as an intermediary among the appropriate parties to facilitate the acquisition of clinical education agreements. Provides ongoing communication with clinical educators at each clinical education site.  Preparing clinical rotation assignment schedules.  Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.  Assists with student recruitment and job placement.  Serves on committees.  Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and accreditation standards.  Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and other policies and procedures established by the institution. Assists in the development of reports and other requirements for the Department of Community Health-Office of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma.   

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate degree in Paramedic Technology or equivalent (AAS or AS).  Must demonstrate knowledge of the Rules and Regulations of the DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH-OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES & TRAUMA, THE NATIONAL REGISTRY OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS AND THE COMMITTEE ON  ACCREDITATION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR THE EMS PROFESSIONS.  Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and planning skills.  Currently licensed  in Georgia as a Paramedic, and in good standing. Certification as a Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and in good standing. Licensed in Georgia as a Level III (paramedic) Instructor and in good standing.  Minimum of three years of Paramedic field experience within the past seven years and a minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching in the EMS profession.   Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  Strong oral and written communication skills, organization and planning skills.  Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.  Ability to work collaboratively. 

Current Georgia Paramedic License. Current Licensure from the Office of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma as a Level III (paramedic) Instructor.                                          

              Current National Registry of EMT’s certification as a paramedic or National Association of EMS Educators EMS Educator certification (NAEMSE) and/or Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) Instructor certification.
