Contract Training Developer

Job Title:       Temporary Training Developer (3 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION)
Reports to:    Manager, Documentation, Localization, & Training
Department:  Client Services

Position Summary:
The Training Developer serves as a course developer / instructor, and is responsible for assisting the Sr. Training Developer build and maintain a role-based curriculum of: instructor-led, web-based, and eLearning courses that meet our customers’ training needs. 
 
This role involves all aspects of course development, including: needs analysis, high level design, detail design, development, beta testing, finalization for production, and rollout.  
 
S/he interfaces with clients as well as project teams.
 
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
Leadership
  • Assists the Manager of Documentation, Localization, & Training in:
    • Developing effective and efficient customer training processes and procedures
    • Training new and existing PHT staff on customer training delivery procedures and best practices
 
Training Content Development
  • Facilitates gathering customer and site training requirements for all studies
  • Creates and coordinates the production of raw content to be used in the creation of eLearning, eTraining and Video-based training programs
  • Collaborates closely with subject matter experts, management, and various cross-functional teams
  • Designs curriculum for specific training programs related to product, project, and protocol-specific training deliverables
     
Education Minimum:  BS, BA or equivalent
 
Required Skills and Experience: 
 
  • Knowledge of eLearning solutions for software application training
  • 1-2 years of experience designing and developing technical course materials using proven instructional design methodologies
  • Experience developing content suited for multiple delivery channels (instructor-led classes, online virtual classes, and self-paced eLearning training material)
  • Ability to create and maintain multiple courses simultaneously
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and deliver quality results in a time-sensitive environment
  • Strong training skills (i.e. is able to determine appropriate training methodology based on identified needs, effectively delivers classroom and nontraditional training programs as appropriate, etc.)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent decision making, analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Track record of cross functional collaboration 
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects from start to finish, and working effectively with external vendors, as needed
 
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
  • Experience in creating and managing rapid training engagement processes including: adaptive training plans and timelines
  • Experience in eLearning Instructional Design (ID)
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry training methodologies
  • The ability to learn technical products quickly using pre-release documentation and pre-release software
  • Utilizing virtual delivery platforms such as Adobe Connect
  • eLearning or training-related professional certifications are a plus
  • A track record of implementing successful global programs
  • eLearning development with Adobe eLearning Studio & Adobe Captivate
  • Experience in implementing Learning Management and Content Management solutions
  • Proficient in course-authoring tools (both technology-based and instructor-led training) such as: Articulate, Captivate, Flash, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and CourseBuilder. 
 
Tasks:
  • Travel and conduct face-to-face customer trainings
  • Schedule and conduct trainings training via web
  • Design and develop new technical product training courses for customers
  • Work with subject matter experts on course design and content
  • Manage activities surrounding needs assessment, design and preparation of technical training
  • Work with Engineering & Product Management to integrate new features/functionality into curriculums 
  • Assist with creating and managing the technical training content repository
  • Assist with creating reproducible practices and processes to support new product launches and updates
