Restoration Media is an interactive performance-based marketing and web development firm specializing in email advertising and consumer facing web properties with broad appeal. We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our growing development team.

The person in this position will be making an impact not only in our company but also in the Internet marketing industry, as he or she will be working on innovative projects and participating as a key member of our team. The Database Administrator ensures the proper operation, maintenance, recovery, security and integrity of various databases and the data stored within each database. The Database Administrator supports the development of website and database projects.

Responsibilities & Duties

Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for MySQL databases
Monitor database events and proactively optimize system performance
Perform health checks to ensure the integrity of the schema and data
Perform health checks to ensure the synchronization of database replicas
Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex application performance analysis
Develop and implement report-friendly database schemata
Facilitate reporting through efficient data aggregation from multiple databases
Develop and maintain the database architecture for each project
Develop and maintain the appropriate operational documentation for each database

Skills & Specifications

Intermediate to expert knowledge of MySQL and other database products
Intermediate to export knowledge about server hardware infrastructure and Linux-derived operating systems
Scripting and database query skills
Knowledge of backup strategies
Knowledge of clusters and high availability technologies

Education & Qualifications

2-5 years experience as a Database Administrator
Degrees in Computer science, IT, software engineering, web development, programming or other subjects are a plus
Certification in PHP web development and software programming are a plus
