Director of Corporate Business Development
 
Skills / Experience Requirements:
·      A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting is required.  A master’s degree in a related field is required
·      Five to seven years of relevant work experience with mergers and acquisition work with an investment banking or corporate firm is a plus
·      Strong understanding of financial analysis and valuation principles, financial statements, and how businesses create value
·      Must be a self-starter able to work independently with little direction or guidance
·      Strong leadership skills
·      Experience in planning, coordinating, and closing multiple projects simultaneously
·      Candidate must have strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.  Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused and concise manner
·      Spanish, Portuguese, or French language skills are a plus.  Fluent English is required
 
Overview
 
The Director of Corporate Business Development is responsible for the identification, development, analysis and execution of investment transactions necessary to achieve strategic and business growth objectives.  The incumbent will assist in the development of strategic plans, conduct research (market, industry and competitor) and provide support for special projects.  This position is a senior level role, and the incumbent will be expected to develop positive long-term working relationships with company leadership team and outside stakeholders.
 
Essential Functions
 
·      Develop strategies for establishing partnerships and business investment relationships to meet strategic growth objectives
·      Seek out and research prospective development projects.  Develop detailed project plans for all approved projects
·      Provide support to senior management in investment deal negotiations, deal structure, contract development and due diligence efforts
·      Prepare well-reasoned and concise project applications required to obtain CEO and/or Board of Directors approval
·      Identify and analyze new business opportunities and assess value creation potential
·      Ensure effective deployment of capital resources to maximize value creation
·      Prepare and present findings on new business opportunities to management, including a complete risk assessment
·      Assist in the creation of plans/objectives from which business decisions are developed with direct impact on operating income and return on net assets growth
·      Research and analyze competitor actions to determine possible impact
·      Identify strategic strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities
·      Assist in the preparation of the monthly CEO letter
·      Develop presentations for senior business leaders
·      Other duties as assigned
