Director of Packing Facilities- Todd Greiner Farms

Todd Greiner Farms is a diversified fruit, vegetable, and evergreen farm established in 1994 and is also a leader in fresh packing fruits and vegetables. Todd Greiner Farms started out farming 120 acres in 1994 and grew to 1,200 acres in 2012; most recently taking on another 1,000 acres beginning in 2013. With this growth we need the addition of more talented key staff to continue our success. We are seeking a strong leader, motivator, and strategic thinker to join our team as the Director of Packing Facilities overseeing two fresh cut/pack facilities in Hart, MI. We are looking for someone to direct and coordinate daily production to achieve the lowest cost of production while meeting the highest standards of quality.

• Manage two fresh pack facilities and directly manage all labor, scheduling, inventory, quality, and efficiency of each line
• Manage the equipment, labor and prioritization of projects/tasks for optimal efficiency; critical focus on reducing downtime
• Directly oversee up to 40 people, manage performance and conduct training
• Ensure quality of product meets each customer’s specifications
• Monitor and assess equipment needs to ensure optimal efficiency
• Assist with repairs and maintenance of equipment
• Oversee inventory levels to ensure shipment needs are met and quality is being maintained in storage
• Meet production goals for labor cost per pack or per lb, safety and quality
• Maintain a good partnership and clear communication with growers we are packing
• Coordinate with Sales manager on any additional raw product needed to meet contract volume
• Work with owners to manage packing costs and analyze other expenses for each packing line
• Ensure accurate records are maintained for quality control records, shipping/receiving and order tracking
• Maintain a highly organized and clean appearance of the facilities
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety practices are being followed
• Adhere to GMP Food Safety Practices

• Be a strong leader with the ability to lead, motivate, and uphold candid conversations with employees on expectations and performance

• Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

• Flexibility to meet changing customer demands and changing hours

• Maintain a professional image and demeanor; uphold the image of Todd Greiner Farms to growers, customers, the community, and its employees

• Supervisory experience in a packing facility, food processing, or food manufacturing environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or Business preferred
