Detailed Description

 

Position Summary: The Nursing Director (ND) is accountable for leading patient care areas, services, and programs that contribute to safe, timely, effective, efficient and equitable patient and family centered care. Working within the strategic direction of the parent organization, the ND provides leadership, team focus, and direction in achieving excellence in patient care. The ND is responsible for the implementation of the organization's mission, philosophy, core values, and vision.

 

Essential Job Responsible:

-Exercise independent judgment with overall accountability for clinical and operational issues for assigned units. Achieving and nurturing a Magnet Culture is a priority.

-Facilitate the delivery of patient care in a compassionate and ethical manner according to recognized standards and care model.

-Be accountable for factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.

-Provide visionary leadership in the professional practice setting.

-Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration and the delivery of services.

-Actively lead and participate in quality improvement, health and safety,

and environment of care programs as established by the organization.

-Assign work and responsibly directs staff.

-Direct and administer assigned functions to ensure high quality, cost-effective patient services which meet or surpass accreditation standards.

 

Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing, Master's degree required,

either Bachelor degree or Master's degree must be in nursing.

 

Licenses and certifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska at time of hire. Certification in management or clinical specialty within 12 months of hire.

 

Experience: Five years in a leadership role.

 

Candidate needs:

5+ 7 years of experience

Management Experience Required

 

 

The Compensation

Benefits – Full

Base Salary - $105,000 - $156,000+

Relocation Assistance Available
