OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Exploration Manager is responsible for the management of a major exploration programme including geophysical, geomechanical, geological and drilling activities. ensuring everything progresses according to plan and meets all AGA standards regarding safety and environmental stewardship.

The individual will provide essential, planning and the necessary administration and effective management on HSE matters. The role will provide guidance, moral support , leadership and discipline where necessary.

Manages essential implementation of all ongoing exploration activities and ensures appropriate cost tracking initiatives are in place.

Manager Geology

THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking an individual with a Bsc (Hons) Geology with possible postgraduate qualification combined with a minimum of 10 years dedicated exploration experience with a dominant portion of this being in Greenstone hosted gold terrains.

Knowledge of the GIS package preferably Arcview is essential along with geochemical and geophysical exploration techniques and knowledge of Datamine and RC drilling. The ability to speak French would b a definite advantage.

Along with broad project management experience The Exploration Manager will be a leader in this broad diverse role, with the ability to deal effectively with all workers and management.

OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Manages the ongoing initiatives regarding discovery and development of mine resources in the region.
•Continually appraises the need for adequate assets and resources and ensures they are in place and available as needed.
•Reviews and coordinates the activities to insure progress is on track.
•Discover , evaluate and deliver new ounces from exploration programme
•Maintain , exploration database and GIS and ensure integrity of all data.
•Ensure safety standards at all times.
•Ensure effective daily management and liaison with all exploration contractors including drilling, assay, and technical contractors.
•Plan daily schedules and review exploration progress on an ongoing basis.
•Review daily reports and approve and cost controls.
•Maintain close and open communication between Evaluation, Planning, and Mining departments.


REMUNERATION

The successful expatriate candidate will be appointed on an expatriate 2 year contract , renewable review at the two year point. Regular leave break will apply with remuneration based on US currency.
