Floater to Teacher for Christian Childcare Center

    Job Description:

    - Schedule 8:00am-5:00pm
    - $9.50/hr to start. $0.25/hr increase after the first 30 days. Pay increases with education, experience and employment term.

    We are wanting to hire ahead of the game. We are looking to employ a floating teacher full-time, with 40 hours a week guaranteed. We currently have 50+ employees between our 2 centers, 1 mile apart. This would exist to sub for teacher/aides absent or sick. On days when no position needs to be covered, we would prefer to have the floater go home but we could reassign duties to admin, cleaning or whatever a director may need done for that day.

    We want to hire this position with the flexability of covering holes until a position is available desired to be filled by both the floater and the hiring staff.

    Job Details:
    • Low to no teaching
    • Serving kids ages 6 weeks - 6 years
    • Must be "Early Childhood Educator" (teacher) qualified in the State of Colorado (see below)
    • 1st Aide & CPR certified preferred but not required
    • Must be able to pass a background check

    STATE QUALIFICATIONS: GROUP LEADERS/TEACHERS
    To be qualified as a Group Leader/Teacher you need to qualify in ONE (1) of the following ways:

    Option #1. A 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Family and Child Development or Child
    Psychology. If your degree is in an unrelated field, ECE 101 and another ECE class must be taken. (We can help you get these classes while you
    work.) No additional experience required.

    Option # 2. An associate’s (2 year) degree in child development or early childhood education. No additional experience required.

    Option # 3. A current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Certified Child Care Professional (CCP) or other Department approved
    credential. No college course work required. No additional experience required.

    Option # 4. Completion of two (2) years of college education (60 semester credit hours) with at least 1 college course in Early Childhood Education.
    PLUS 910 hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to
    the individual.

    Option # 5. Twelve (12) semester hours of college-level credits in child growth and development and/or ECE. PLUS 9 months (1395 hours) of verified
    experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual.

    Option # 6. Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development. No college course work required. PLUS
    12 months (1820 hours) of verified experience as noted in D.

    Option # 7. A current Colorado Level I teaching credential. PLUS Twenty-four (24) months (3640 hours) of verified experience in the care and
    supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual.

    Option # 8. Two (2) 3 credit Early Childhood college courses with one being Intro to ECE. PLUS Twenty-four (24) months (3640 hours) of verified
    experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual.

    About the Company:

    We are a FAST-GROWING, Pro-Life/Pro-Family, Non-Profit, Inner City Outreach & Ministry to At-Risk Kids. Based out of a local Christian non-denominational church, we have 2 childcare centers, serving children ages 6 weeks - 13 years, located in central Colorado Springs.
