Gaging Specialist

The Gaging Specialist is responsible for investigating and standardizing gage processes and software/hardware for engine & transmission applications. Proactively identify best gaging technology for the machining and quality layout room. Develop specifications for suppliers. Perform cost studies. Determine manufacturing timing and EEM (Early Equipment Management). Provide benchmark best in class gaging technologies and plan the implementation of new technologies within AME Powertrain.


Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related with 10 years manufacturing experience including 5 years' experience in gaging technology and CMM programming in a manufacturing environment
Experience and understanding of powertrain processes
Automotive process engineering knowledge
Good communication skills are required
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Word Outlook and Excel
Preferred Requirements:

Self-directed and motivated to implement change within the department
Excellent people skills and able to work within a team
Ability to function in platform and team settings
Must possess excellent organization skills and be able to travel worldwide and interface with powertrain plants and suppliers if required
