Job Title : High Speed Board Design Engineer
Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 4+ Years of High Speed Design experience
Technical/Functional Skills : High Speed Circuit Designing, VHDL for FPGA;s and CPLDs
Experience Required Candidates should have three to seven years experience designing consumer electronics, wireless devices and/or low power platforms.
Solid electrical engineering, digital & analog circuit fundamentals and lab skills are a must.
Strong written and oral communication and teamwork skills are required.
Experience with digital communications is a plus.
Additional desired skills include: knowledge of transmission lines, cross talk, decoupling, low-power supply design and layout of high performance PWBs. Familiarity with modems, DSPs, microprocessors, memories, LCDs, camera sensors, batteries and other consumer electronics hardware is desired, as is tool experience performing schematic capture, signal integrity and programmable logic simulations, and place & route. Design experience writing VHDL for FPGAs and CPLDs is a plus.
Roles & Responsibilities : • Successful candidates for this position will develop digital platforms and mixed-mode wireless devices utilizing MSMs, RFICs and power management ASICs for in-house design verification software/firmware development and handheld reference designs. Responsibilities include high-speed digital design, baseband and analog design, signal integrity analysis and simulation, integration and test, transition to manufacturing and maintaining hardware through the product cycle. Platforms may incorporate ARM processors, graphics engines, digital audio, USB OTG, Bluetooth, GPS, MIPI, MDDI and LAN.Candidate must quickly assimilate onto an existing project, read/write technical specifications/requirements, develop/refine hardware designs, apply integration/lab skills, demonstrate strong problem solving abilities and work closely with software and RF disciplines and actively contribute toward the evolution of a shared platform.
