Lead Accountant

This position is for a Lead Accountant in the Corporate Accounting department of a $2 billion global enterprise software company.  Responsibilities include performing, assessing and analyzing complex accounting activities in order to support the company’s corporate accounting function, which is responsible for accounting for complex items performed centrally for the global accounting organization, as well as the consolidated review and analysis of certain accounting performed regionally.  The position requires interaction with various groups within accounting, including international personnel, and in other operational areas of the organization.  Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Accounting for certain compensation programs
• Review and coordination of regional exit cost activity
• Review and consolidation of intangible asset activity and balances
• Accounting for various accrued liabilities and prepaid items
• Perform quarter-end reviews of potential unrecorded liabilities
• Journal entries, reconciliations and analysis for the areas mentioned above
• Interfacing with internal and external auditors
• Evaluating processes for continuous improvement and efficiencies and suggesting change where needed
• Researching accounting issues related to the areas of responsibility
• Performing internal controls for areas of responsibility and ensuring that controls are appropriate and adequate under Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

 This position reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting.
