Manufacturing Specialist

The Manufacturing Specialist provides technical expertise in die design and builds for new products. This position develops, manages and maintains systems to ensure timely milestones are met by collaborating with ASME (Advance Stamping Manufacturing Engineering) program managers / process engineers focusing on business risk mitigation. This position also supports all die build phases and assists ASME in qualifications and corrective and preventive actions involving dies. The Manufacturing Specialist will oversee all engineering changes through die shops. The goal of this position is to exceed customer requirements for quality timeliness and cost effectiveness. The Manufacturing Specialist will participate in design reviews, and assist Research and Development, product designers and engineering teams in product development, and will coordinate with die designers, ASME process engineers and vendors in building dies for new products and design changes for quality improvement efforts. Other duties include evaluating vendors' performance for high quality product and services; overseeing blank material inventory levels, and incoming / outgoing inspection records of spare or new die components. The Manufacturing Specialist works with engineering and quality leadership to drive major die initiatives, identifies, recommends, and implements WCM (World Class Manufacturing) strategies to improve efficiencies, and performs other related duties and tasks as required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project and PowerPoint
Experienced in SMIRT and CATIA.
Understanding of financial systems
Previous UAW interaction
Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering major preferred
Journeyman tool and die maker preferred
