The Marketing and Communications Assistant role is critical both to the day to day operations and long-term sustainability of the Industrial Product Partners (IPP) organization. This position requires full ownership over tasks related to social media and marketing, and close collaboration on website-related projects. The ideal candidate is technologically savvy and demonstrates an ability to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This is a unique opportunity to learn the art and science of effective traditional and on-line marketing, at one of the leading distributors of industrial products in the USA. This position directly reports to the Director of Marketing.
Manage the Customer Relationship Management database (CRM). Prepare marketing reports on a weekly basis. Identify key leaders in the community and prepare background information for meetings. Measure Independent Sales Reps (ISR) engagement.
Tweet and re-tweet weekly organization commentary on Industrial Product Partners' news. Develop and maintain social media strategy for use of IPP Facebook and linkedin accounts. Increase IPP social media following in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and related trade Blogs.
Keep website content up to date, with weekly updates to home and resource pages and monthly updates to program pages.
Track and report (weekly) on key website metrics using Google Analytics and other PPC and SEO Metrics.
Fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, experience using website content management systems a plus.
Strong written communications and editing skills - Degree in Marketing, English or Communications preferred.
Experience developing communities using social media.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, yet comfortable asking for direction. Capacity to get a lot done in a limited amount of time.
Undergraduate degree from a competitive college or university
1 + years of work experience
Ability to be flexible, working at night on some projects when necessary
Academic Internships available or Hourly Pay (Independent Contractor / 1099) available.
