Marketing Manager

Lead tactical and strategic activities across customer marketing, category marketing, and brand marketing.  Build a base of knowledge about consumers, customers, and competitors to inform marketing strategies and programs. Work closely with Sales, Merchandising, and Creative Services to build programs and materials to support the Sales force across Food, Drug, Mass, and Pet Specialty channels. This is a new role which will report to the VP of Marketing. The successful candidate will have skills developed working with larger brand-driven companies, and the resourcefulness to pioneer this capability in a mid-cap business.

  • Write and execute annual Customer, Category and Brand Marketing Plans
  • Develop consumer and category insights to support product launches and increased retail distribution
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales to lead the development of sales materials for key product launches and restages
  • Communicate key initiatives, strategy changes, and marketing programs to the Sales organization
  • Develop process to maintain customer planogram database
  • Partner with Creative Services to develop compelling marketing communications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field with a minimum of 2 years in category marketing or customer marketing in a CPG or retail environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience calling on key accounts preferred.
  • Experience preparing sales presentations for key accounts
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and apply marketing research insights to business results
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Sales, Merchandising, Creative, and Finance teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with high accountability and focus on ROI
