PC Technician / Test Tech

My name is Stephanie and I represent The Fountain Group.  We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a  PC / Test Technician for a prominent client of ours.  This position is located in Austin, TX. Details for the positions are as follows:
 
Job Description

Candidate will be responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities in validation labs, conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect data. Strong understanding of PC computer hardware & software (Windows). Linux is a plus. This includes how to build a PC from scratch, understand all of the components and what they do, how to load an OS / clone images / easily navigate through OS / Word & Excel. Debug PC issues from hardware/software level. Familiarity with SQL is required.

• Strong background in electronics, specifically hardware components and familiarity with SMT (surface mount technology) components. Must be able to debug boards to component level, be able to read schematics and follow signals (Net names) back to all relevant devices on pages.
• Ability to rework boards (soldering) efficiently is a must. Must be able to solder down fine pitch components with use of various solder tips and to de-solder with use of hot air gun and/or soldering iron
• Familiar with oscilloscopes, multimeters (Logic Analyzer experience is a plus)
• Prior experience with cable assembly (custom cable making from scratch with use of crimping tools, soldering, pin out to different digital to analog measurement devices).
