PLC TECH/MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR

Salary: $28.00 to $35.00 Per Hour

Job Description:
We are Partnering with our well established Food Processing client seeking experienced PLC Tech/Maintenance Coordinator. IMMEDIATE and Excellent Direct Hire Career opportunity.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
Directing day-to-day maintenance functions and personnel, including scheduling of labor to meet plant and equipment requirements, and assigning responsibilities and tasks.
Actively participates with Operations in plant improvement initiatives. Ensure all mechanical, electrical, electronic and structural repair and improvements are performed to industry and company standards.
Program and trouble shoot PLCs and make corrections to programs as needed. Communicate effectively with employees in troubleshooting PLCs to ensure minimal equipment downtime and peak equipment operation.
Encourage employee participation on plant teams, such as safety, continuous improvement, etc.
Ability to program VFDs, panel views; read electrical schematics; understand ladder logic.
Advise the Maintenance Manager on mechanical issues and their impact on production output.
Ensure that all utilities (i.e. refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air systems, etc.) are in proper working order to support production. Troubleshoot machinery and process systems in the event of breakdowns.
Coordinate with maintenance manager and production supervision downtime windows for PM and repair work.
Communicate effectively with maintenance and plant personnel to ensure smooth operation of the process.
Monitor the work area to ensure a safe environment is maintained and all plant safety rules are followed.
Enforce the Companys policies and programs with employees, contractors, vendors, consultants and suppliers (i.e. safety, GMPs, etc). Complies with all of food safety, quality programs, and regulatory requirements.

Complete all assigned paperwork including maintenance records, incident reports and investigations, and other paperwork as assigned by the maintenance manager.
Perform other duties and projects as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent.
A minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience within Food, and/or Beverage industry; solid PLC knowledge and PLC manufacturing experience is required.
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintenance work-order systems.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management and organizational skills.
Ability to logically determine mechanical/electrical/process control system functions, in order to determine the most efficient method of resolving malfunctions.
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts; and move about the plant to inspect all machinery and processes.

Job Requirements:
Must have strong PLC programming knowledge and experience as a PLC Tech/Maintenance Coordinator, preferably in a Food Processing environment as described above.
