Pharmacy Compliance Specialist/Officer

PHARMACY COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST/OFFICER
 
Mountain Care Pharmacy is a closed door Hospice pharmacy headquartered in Murray, Utah.  MCP is seeking a seasoned Pharmacy Compliance Specialist/Officer to oversee each of its pharmacies compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
 
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct on-site inspections of company pharmacies to:
·         Assure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
·         Examine and evaluate  systems, methods, and procedures for drug procurement,  storage, handling, and record keeping
·         Audit drug inventory and records of medications dispensed and received to assure stock is accurate
·          Inspect  pharmacy in event of disasters or thefts to account for and evaluate condition of drug stock
·         Makes determinations on product purity, potency, stability, and sterility, and reliability of equipment
·         Assure  that the licensing of pharmacies, pharmacists and technicians are current
·          Investigate the possibility of  illegal use, diversion, or distribution of controlled substances and regulated drugs by pharmacy personnel
·         Examine  records and prescription files
 
Implement, evaluate and insure that the company’s policies and procedures are in line with State and Federal rules and regulations including USP 797 and USP 795
 
Evaluate state laws in accordance to MCP locations and potential locations for expansion of pharmacy operations.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Considerable knowledge of: State and federal laws and regulations related to pharmacies and registration; prescription recordkeeping and filing systems; procedures for safe storage of drugs
-5 years of compliance experience
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
