Job Description:
Job Summary:
Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, co-workers and supervisors. Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times by meeting physical demands of the position.
Typical Duties:
• Establish a climate of respect for each child as an individual
• Maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and orderly Child Development Center including indoor and outdoor areas
• Follow health and safety standards for food handling, hand washing, and universal precautions with exposure to blood
• Work collaboratively with children, parents, colleagues and supervisors
• Model appropriate behavior; demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor
• Oversee the creation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for 3 year olds
• Collaborate with on-site preschool teachers in planning and implanting age appropriate lessons
• Design and deliver a Preschool program
• Articulate fully with jr. kindergarten teachers to provide a seamless and successful transition for preschoolers into our jr. kindergarten program
• Interact daily with each child and his or her learning processes
• Assist with the coordination of the daily operations of the Child Development Center including: student registration, sign-in and sign-out procedures, and staffing support
• Develop and distribute a weekly newsletter and maintain regular contact with parents/guardians
• Assist in planning and attend classroom events and meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Education:
CDA preferred. Experience teaching children is a must. Bilingual a plus.
