At Backyard Farms were focused on being really, really good tomato growers. Its our goal to provide the Northeast with the freshest, best-tasting tomatoes possible year-round. Thats why we leave our tomatoes on the vine as long as possible. And its why we are so passionate about our produce.
At the same time, were focused on providing good agricultural jobs for people in the community. We wouldn't have the tastiest tomatoes in the region without our people. We show our appreciation by giving back to our community and continuing to invest in our business so that we can be the best growers possible.
We think people should know where their food comes from and whos growing it. We built our business on this belief, and we never compromise it. We believe in and support local produce particularly the desire of people to have a higher-quality, fresher, better-tasting tomato. Quality comes first. Quantity second. We dont grow as cheaply as possible.
We think of each of our employees as a long-term employee. Our employees give us a lot and work hard to grow and harvest the freshest tomatoes possible. And we give a lot back in return. Our employees receive competitive pay, comprehensive health care, paid time off, monthly incentives and, of course, free tomatoes! Plus, Backyard Farms is a great place to work in the wintertime 75 degrees and sunny year-round!
Achieving our mission requires great people who are bright, creative, and energetic, and who possess the following values:
Integrity and honesty
Accountable for commitments, results, and quality to customers, shareholders, partners and employees.
Open and respectful with others and dedicated to making them better
Willingness to take on big challenges and see them through
Self-critical, questioning and committed to personal excellence and self-improvement
