Project Engineer

SUMMARY

Strong ability to generate / implement ideas / designs that reduce component cost, track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, resolve problems, meet deadlines, and handle fast paced critical work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to investigate and approve new projects through the engineering lab ensuring relevant testing is complete to assure the new suppliers/components will be problem free once in production.

Coordinate new parts and engineering changes with Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Quality Assurance product planning and external suppliers.

Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate (verbally and in writing) externally to suppliers, sell ideas and strategies internally across multiple levels of the organization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Engineer with broad white goods experience in design, project management and cost reduction for mass-produced components, combined with the capability to question the validity of current requirements with the view to reducing none valve add material and or design.

An extensive working history with low cost countries and manufacturing firms is also beneficial.

Due to the global nature of the supply base bilingual is a definite plus (Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors of Science in Engineering.

Minimum 3 years engineering experience, (Appliance experience a plus)

Strong analytical skills and spreadsheets

Expertise in supplier processes and cost drivers
