    Job Description:

    Purpose and Rationale:
    The Project Manager is a subject matter expert in the Alcoa Business System (ABS) and application of lean principles, with a thorough knowledge of the Requisition to Payment (RtP) processes and the Oracle ERP system. This position leads teams to take functional business RtP requirements, test hypotheses for improving the RtP process, review results, realize achievement of event goals and objectives, and support sustainment of vision. This position requires the ability to work with other functional subject matter experts within Process Development, and with business unit leadership and other professionals within the business units.

    Primary Purpose of the Function:
    The Project Manager, also known as the PDI (Process Development and Improvement) Consultant - serves as the liaison between Center of Excellence (COE) and Procurement Operations or Commodity Management. For Procurement Operations, the consultant will be aligned with a Global Business Unit (GBU), or where language is a requirement, will be aligned with the businesses in a particular country. For Commodity Management, the consultant will be aligned with a Commodity Group. This position works with limited guidance and focuses on leading and implementing Procurement’s top COE initiatives.

    Major activities/Key challenges:

    -The Consultant serves as a subject matter expert and project lead for COE driven initiatives.

    -The Consultant's Blackbelt/SPA (Single Point of Accountability) responsibilities are:

    -Champion the initiatives

    -Monitor buying activities to insure the initiative processes are being followed

    -Monitor performance of the initiatives to prioritize activities

    -Identify training requirements for the buyers and ensure training is delivered

    -Identify and develop new best practices

    -Share best practices and lessons learned

    -Drive process standardization across locations

    -Participate in sourcing events

    -Provide escalated help-desk type support for complex issues


    Major Customers:

    -Business Unit (BU) Procurement Operations Leadership

    -Commodity Group Leaders

    -COE Leadership


    Essential Knowledge & Skills:

    -ABS or Six Sigma expertise

    -Leadership: Guiding a project team to deliver expected results

    -Project Management

    -Curriculum Design & Development

    -Ability to work with minimal guidance

    -Requisition to Payment Functional Expert

    -Oracle Financials Expert (Payables, Purchasing, iProcurement, Inventory)


    Note: Given candidate experience, this role could be hired as JG 17 or JG 18.

    Basic Qualifications:
    -Bachelor's Degree with 7+years Requisition to Pay functional process experience

    OR

    -2 years of college course work wih 5+ years of Alcoa Procurement experience

    -4+years project management experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
    -Ability to speak and understand French is preferred
    -Six Sigma experience is preferred
    -Oracle ERP experience is preferred
