Minimum Qualifications:
Board certified or Board eligible Psychiatrist or Licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a valid license to practice in North Carolina.
Education:
Appropriate professional degree from an accredited University
Experience:
Two or more years of training and direct service experience diagnosing, treating and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment of children and adolescents. Experience is evident by the provision of face to face treatment and interventions with patients with a primary mental health or substance use disorder diagnosis and the purpose of the treatment by the physician is related to those diagnoses.
Skills/Abilities:
Experienced, knowledgeable psychopharmacologist for treatment provision to children and adolescents
Experienced in diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning for this age group
Thorough knowledge of the state service definitions
Familiarity with community resources,
Crisis intervention/risk assessment expertise,
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
Understanding of and ability to implement quality assurance practices
Licenses/Credentials:
MD/DO Licensed to practice in NC
Board Certified or Board eligible in:
- child and adolescent psychiatry(preferred) or
- general or adult psychiatry or
- psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner
- pediatrics
