#53 QA Analyst II Pittsburgh, PA. Contract / Contract to Hire
Looking for an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to design, develop, and execute test strategies and test plans in a large-scale date warehouse environment. Responsibilities
Analyze system and business process requirements and design test strategies, test plans and test cases to ensure test coverage
Develop and execute manual tests at all test phases to verify application readiness for production implementation
Work with the project team to ensure quality throughout the product lifecycle, including reviewing specifications, developing schedules, and resolving issues
Identify, report and track software defects
Validate developer-implemented resolutions to defects
Manipulates data and understands the underlying process details Updates, submits and checks programs used for data manipulation purposes
Designs and participates in implementation, Q/A, and validation of data, software or procedure changes
Troubleshoots and debugs system and/or data errors
Communicates to and works closely with client and data suppliers to resolve issues and provide status to the client status of requests
Builds and maintains a variety of production client deliverables
Sets up, submits, checks and delivers Ad hoc/special requests
Creates and maintains detailed documentation and adheres to standard operating procedures
Applies knowledge and experience to identify and implement process improvement
Take full ownership and accountability for their work
Attends ongoing training to achieve personal, professional and technical improvement
Mentors other production staff
Required Skills
Requires a four-year technical degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years experience in software quality assurance environment
Detail oriented person
Strong technical skills including SQL, Unix, PC and Microsoft office suite
Knowledge of SAS, Oracle, PL/SQL, and UC4 a plus
Experience defining test strategies, test plans, comprehensive test cases and scripts
Experience with all types of testing: Functional, System, Integration, Regression
Ability to analyze requirements and ability to elicit additional information concerning requirements from users
Excellent communication, project management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal and time management skills
Must be organized and a quick learner
Effective communication skills
Well-developed multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required
