RN - Memory Care Specialist

Wesley Homes is a not for-profit organization that provides a network of services offering a continuum of care for older adults. It is affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. 

 

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Memory Care Specialist for our Community Health Services division. This is a part-time, 20 – 24 hours per week, Monday through Friday position. Hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however hours and days may vary depending on the needs of the business.  If desired and qualified, additional nursing administrative or direct care responsibilities may be combined with this position to create a full time position.

 

Wesley Homes Lea Hill, located in Auburn, WA, provides independent living apartments and village homes along with a secure memory care facility, the Arbor.  Wesley Homes Community Health Services (WHCHS) provides nursing and home health aide staff and services to residents of Wesley Homes and in the general community.

 

DUTIES:

 

·         This position has oversight of The Arbor; our memory care assisted living unit at our Lea Hill facility in Auburn.

·         The RN consults and advises with the Lea Hill Administrator, the Arbor Resident Care Manager (RCM), and the WHCHS Executive Director to achieve the highest level of resident care.

·         The RN will perform and/or review the initial assessment of a client’s appropriateness for the Arbor and assists in the development of individual resident treatment plans.

·         The Memory Care Specialist assists the Arbor and Wesley Homes, in our journey toward quality care excellence by researching, educating, and promoting the latest information regarding dementia care and services.

·         This position will directly (or through other staff) plan, implement, and evaluate the orientation and in-service education programs for staff of the Arbor and WHCHS.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

·         Must have an active RN license in the State of Washington.

·         BSN and/or MSN desired.

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Long Term Care setting with current memory care experience.

·         Dementia and Mental Health training/certification required.

·         First Aid and CPR training required.

·         Washington State Food Handlers Permit required.

·         Must be able to pass reference checks, drug screen, WSP check, DSHS Background check and I-9 eligibility

·         Ability to support the organization’s mission, vision and goals within the community
