Job Description
We’re a fast growing and profitable web-based start-up looking for a Sales Engineer with Web or Saas product experience, outstanding communication skills, technical acumen and an ability to build successful relationships with customers. A successful Sales Engineer have a strong understanding of how our technology can resolve business issues, possesses a consultative sales approach and understands the importance of team work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the sales team through direct client interaction evoking confidence in our products and platform and removing all technical objections throughout the sales cycle
- Qualify the technical requirements of prospects for purposes of evaluating software
- Educate on technical and configuration options to a variety of audiences, including sales, sales ops, IT and marketing
- Support prospects during pre-sales evaluation process, working to bring trials to a successful closure
- Collect feedback from the field, synthesize, and present to Product Management and Engineering
- Some travel required (generally 2-3 day trips), up to 30%
- Be confident in presenting and articulating the business value of the platform to managers and executives of all levels
- Deliver product and technical related responses on RFPs/RFIs
- Show a working knowledge of how to integrate cloud applications to existing business applications and processes
- Manage multiple customer engagements concurrently
- Be self motivated, flexible, and show initiative
Requirements
- 5+ years as a Sales Engineer with direct client interaction with at least 2 years SaaS or CRM experience
- 3+ years supporting field sales professionals on enterprise accounts
- 3+ years experience with web-based products
- Experience with Java-related products a plus
- 4 year University degree preferred
