Job Description:
Axeda is looking for a driven, creative individual to join our strong Professional Services Software Engineering team. You need to be comfortable with developing in multiple languages and on multiple platforms on a regular basis. You must have solid time management skills and a willingness to embrace new technologies. A high comfort level with Java is required, as well as an understanding of databases, XML and common frameworks. High energy and clear communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions with customers
• Develop custom software for clients based on the stated requirements
• Participate in architecture and design discussions with clients and internal resources
• Provide technical training for internal and external resources
• Function as integral member of small, agile and fluid development and customer facing team
Experience Requirements
• Minimum of three years of software development experience utilizing a variety of languages, including Java and WebServices. Groovy and C++ are a plus.
• Should have knowledge of network programming with TCP/IP.
• Must have experience in developing web applications and client-server applications.
• Should be proficient in both Windows and Unix development environments.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience developing for J2EE application servers such as Weblogic and JBoss.
• Experience with standard Java development tools, including Maven, SVN, and Junit.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work closely with customers and business stakeholders. Customer-facing experience is a plus.
• Some travel (<10%) may be required
