This is a full time, direct hire opportunity in Pittsburgh PA.
SUMMARY
The Applications Engineer’s primary role is to design, develop and implement solutions with our Custom
Oracle Order Entry implementation. This position will also be involved with interfacing systems with
other applications, databases and technologies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
Design, develop, alter, maintain and document our current Oracle Order Entry implementation.
Analyzes the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing
the usage of computer resources
.
Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic
and data manipulation.
Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software.
Provides assistance and routine consultation to users in the development of software.
Implements tools and facilitates text formatting and file conversion and transfer.
Acts as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially with
regard to problem diagnosis and resolution.
Plans and executes software version upgrade releases and customer interfaces.
Works with others to develop alternative system software designs
Other projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Oracle Development experience (3+ years on-hand development)
Oracle 9i/10g database experience
Development of forms, reports, procedures, functions, packages, etc.
Forms 6i and 10g
Report Writer 6i and 10g
Discoverer 4.1 and 5.1
Enterprise Manager 9.2 – Job Scheduling
Perl
SQL Navigator
Visual Source Safe
Advanced MS office skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Work well under pressure while meeting deadlines
