Axeda is looking for a talented Solutions Architect to lead and develop architecture of customized Axeda technology including system design and architecture specifications for our customers. As part of Axeda’s Professional Services team, the Solutions Architect will work closely with Engagement Managers to understand customer requirements, and provide expertise to define and develop appropriate solutions.

Major Responsibilities/Duties
* Provide technical oversight and architectural design of customers’ solutions
* Participate in writing scalable, flexible, extensible software
* Participate in writing and estimating system design and architecture specifications
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the team developing the solution
* Work with Customers to understand requirements and define solutions
* Provide customer training on customizing the Axeda product and regarding delivered solutions.

Technical\Professional Knowledge\Skills
* Extensive development experience with C++ (Java helpful)
* Excellent and proven ability to work well with outside customers
* Expertise in Windows, Linux, and embedded systems development; cross-platform development is a plus
* Experience in Inter-process, network and serial communications.
* Experience with HTTP and security.
* Basic understanding of J2EE and Web based application architectures
* Experience with real-time data acquisition; familiarity with PLC communication protocols and driver development is a plus.
* Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects

Education and Experience
* BS in computer Science; MS in Computer Science preferred
* Eight years experience working for software companies or software related technical consulting
* Five years experience in software development (preferably C++ programming)
* Three years of experience working as a J2EE Architect on highly scalable and available web based application infrastructures preferred, but not required
