Summary
The Sourcing Manager is a part of the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement capability and collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and support ongoing sourcing and procurement needs. This job focuses on sourcing process equipment for Building Products (Plywood/Lumber, OSB, Gypsum and Chemical) and may work on specialized projects for other divisions.
Responsibilities
· Develop category sourcing plans including value creation strategies, strategic sourcing, supply market trends, internal usage / demand data collection, new product introduction support and global sourcing considerations
· Manage contracts and contract negotiation
· Track and report key category supplier performance metrics including cost savings, incremental margin, cost avoidance and other metrics as necessary.
· Develop and manager supplier relationships
· Work with the sourcing analyst to analyze data using a total cost of ownership (TCO) approach to arrive at sourcing recommendations, identify alternatives, assess associated risks, and conduct scenario analysis
· Monitor, track, and report on success of implementation
· Analyze results to measure value creation and ensure ongoing support of key category strategies
· Synthesize and structure results to present to leadership
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher
· Fluent in Japanese
· Willing and able to travel approximately 10-20%, possibly internationally
PREFERRED:
· Experience with Japanese business culture
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business
· Experience with Microsoft Excel to create and manipulate spreadsheets and analyze data
· Experience with strategic sourcing
· Use of eProcurement / eSourcing tools
· Experience with manufacturing cost systems
· Experience with SAP
