Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering 8+ years of process engineering experience in a refinery or a chemical plant with unit operations similar to refining. Can currently be with an E&C firm as long as you have extensive experience based at an operating facility Familiar with appropriate ASME, API, NFPA, etc. standards. Should have Front End Loading (FEL) experience for capital projects. Excellent project scheduling and management skills Engineering and project management certification experience a plus Six Sigma Black Belt Certification a plus Experienced with PSM Requirements Experience with Aspen a plus
Job Duties:
Develop oil engineering projects Review and prepare P&IDs, PFDs, and write process descriptions Coordinate with representative of agencies, utility companies, vendors, material suppliers, and contractors to obtain information and guidance, and makes appropriate process and equipment selection and prepares specification sheets Establish budgets and schedules for projects and participates in meetings, proposals, and presentation Develop capital budgets with Senior Project Engineer Prepare and submit funding requests for approval Prepare project specifications Research equipment standardization, availability, and sparing philosophies so client can achieve optimum plant operability Work with outside engineering services to develop large capital projects Support unit start-up, shutdown, and non-routine operations when needed, including procedure reviews, turnaround planning, monitoring operations and interacting with external technical resources Provide engineering assistance to plant management and personnel Actively provide leadership in Process Engineering functions of Operations Act as a technical consultant to operations, maintenance and engineering to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions Lead or participate on teams to implement plant-wide initiatives and strategies Recognize and address specific unit performance issues using technical experience and knowledge Lead and review MOCs. Participate in PHA activities and incident investigations Answers questions and participates in project reviews (P&IDs, HAZOP, 3D models) as part of design follow-up support Develop and enhance technical knowledge and information base to enable factual based business decisions. Perform ASPEN simulations of refinery process Monitor and analyze unit performance, looking for opportunities to increase profit, decrease costs or implementing Green Initiatives
