JOB TITLE: Engineer 1, Systems Engineering
REPORTS TO: Engineer IV -Project Lead
SUMMARY: Perform a variety of engineering work in designing, planning and testing of company-produced systems. May assist with customer and in-house training and project coordination.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
Review, develop, and prepare project documentation following standards, practices, and use of engineering tools as recommended by governing department
Communicate with customers, third-party project representatives, and other company departments to meet assigned project requirements and schedule
Configure product databases
Review system drawings
Develop test procedures and conduct system tests
Assist in the development of control strategies and software requirements
Develop specifications for third-party equipment and instrumentation
Coordinate assigned project work with technical and administrative personnel
Travel to customer site (international or office for project meetings, site surveys, startups and training
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required
SITE SPECIFIC:
International: Must be eligible and able to obtain work visa or work permit in country/site of field assignment(s)
Valid international drivers license preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
(U.S.) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.S.E.) from four-year college or university
(U.K.) Professionally qualified within country of operation
Knowledge & Skills:
Working knowledge of database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, reports, and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to customers, management, and co-workers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlations techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to perform engineering calculations using mathematical and software tools.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to moderately high. Domestic and/or international travel required.
