This requires a solid grounding in both the technology and the client business process. The successful VP of Sales will come out of the world of life insurance technology products or services, and will be comfortable and effective in selling to senior members of prospect organizations – often CIO’s.

The candidate must be self-sufficient but a team player and a leader who is capable of taking direction from a collaborative and very supportive senior management team. He/she will be a visionary with an orientation to detail, and someone who works hard but can remember to have fun. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes evidence of:
· Demonstrated entrepreneurial talent in sales, which includes a proven ability to meet and exceed quota and forecasts. (In simple terms, a revenue “monster.”)
· Demonstrated ability to “scale” revenue, not just grow it.
· The ability to think strategically one minute and sell the next.
· Relevant product experience in a similar or related field.
· The ability to work with and lead a sales team, choosing the best strategies for organization and deployment.
· Flexibility; the ability to both create change and adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing industry and technology environment.
· Balance of domain/insurance, people, selling and technology experience and skills.
· Excellent communication (written/oral) skills.
· Knowledge or, and experience with, the life insurance industry
· Comfort with reinventing and leading continual process change.
· High energy with a passion for excellence.
